We all remember growing up and everyone telling up to watch our manners. This is true in everyday life and even more so in the dating scene. If you want to date a TS then you better remember your manners and know a few pointers before you embarrass yourself. Let's face it, this is a social world we live in and first impressions are everything. If you meet someone for the first time and offend them, then you are very unlikely to get a second chance. So men, here are the three tips for proper etiquette you need to follow:
Dress AppropriatelyAvoid Excessive DrinkingRespect Their Gender PreferenceDating a transsexual is no different than anyone else. You want to show up dressed appropriately for the situation. Knowing where you will meet is important so you can get an idea of the dress codes. If you are not sure as what to wear, then call ahead and find out. For a first date it would be ideal to find a place that has casual attire. It should be a somewhere that is convent for both people and allows enough privacy to talk.
Drinking on the first date is never a good idea! If you are planning to drink then keep the limit to three drinks or less for the first date. It should be just enough for you to relax but not so much that you start making a fool of yourself. Besides possible offending the other person you could also get in trouble for public intoxication or even a DUI. There is nothing wrong with having a few drinks to calm your nerves on the first date. But when you start consuming more then you should things could get out of hand. Just keep it to three drinks or less and remember you are there to get to know that person and to show your best side.
Respecting that person's gender identity is the most important rule when dating a transsexual! There is no other area of bad manners that can offend a TS more then referring to them as the wrong gender. You really need to understand that most transsexuals have spent their life being discriminated against and it is not uncommon for their families to have abandoned them just for coming out to about their gender identity. The last thing they need to hear is a slip up or a rude comment as to who they really are.
